Mari Petroleum Company Ltd. reported an oil discovery in the Chiltan and Moro/Mughal Kot formations in Pakistan. The #1-Bolan East is in the Baluchistan Province's Ziarat Block in the Kachhi District. It was drilled to 1,500 m. During a drillstem test, the well flowed 810 bbl of 25-degree-gravity oil per day from Chiltan. Gauged on a 32/64-in. choke, the wellhead flowing pressure was 142-158 psi. Additional testing, including acidizing, is planned. Islamabad, Pakistan-based Mari is the operator of the Ziarat Block and #1-Bolan East with 60% interest in partnership with Pakistan Petroleum Ltd. holding the remaining 40%.
