Description

Two Piceance Basin horizontal gas producers, one from the Mancos and one from the Niobrara, were announced by Terra Energy Partners LLC in Garfield County, Colo. The #704-32-9-HMB2 GM, Section 4-7s-96w, flowed 5.4 MMcf of gas per day on completion. Production is from a horizontal Mancos lateral drilled to the southwest to 15,410 ft at a bottomhole location in Section 9-7s-96w. The true vertical depth is 9,072 ft. It was tested on a 23/64-in. choke after 28-stage fracturing between 9,755 and 15,171 ft with a flowing tubing pressure of 3,218 psi and a flowing casing pressure of 3,907 psi. Within one-quarter mile to the west in Section 4-7s-96w, #702RD-4-HN1 GM-Federal flowed 4.53 MMcf of gas per day from Niobrara. It was tested in a horizontal lateral at 10,650-16,702 ft after 24-stage fracturing. The lateral was drilled to the southeast to 17,000 ft, 9,934 ft true vertical, and bottomed in Section 9-7s-96w.
