According to IHS Markit, Shell Oil Co. has scheduled a Lower Tertiary development test in the company’s producing Silvertip Field. The #2 OCS G19409 will be in the south-western portion of Alaminos Canyon Block 815. Water depth in the area is 9,600 ft. Shell has completed three wells at #1SA, #2SA and #5SA OCS G19409. The wells yield crude between 14,213 ft and 18,404 ft in Lower Tertiary. Nearby is Shell’s 2018 Whale discovery.
