Description
IHS Markit reported that Dan A. Hughes Co. has spud a Smackover test along the edge of Alabama’s Little Cedar Creek Field. The #1 Mattair 21-16 is being drilled in eastern Conecuh County, Ala., to a proposed depth of 11,000 ft. The drillsite, which is its first test the Beeville, Texas-based company has planned in Little Cedar Creek Field, is in Section 21-5n-13e. Little Cedar Creek Field extends 4 miles to the northeast and 10 miles southwest of Hughes’ venture. Opened in 1994, most of the reservoir’s wells are operated by Sklar Exploration and Pruet Production.
