Drilling Activity Summary

Description

According to Compania Espanola de Petroleos (Cepsa), the Bogota-based company has a light oil discovery at #1-La Casona on the El Eden Block in Colombia. The venture was drilled to 16,450 ft. in Une and encountered hydrocarbon shows while drilling through C7, Mirador, Gacheta, and Une reservoirs: petrophysical evaluation of logging-while-drilling and cased-hole log results indicates more than 80 ft. of potential net hydrocarbon pay. The two primary reservoir objectives, Mirador and Une, have interpreted gross hydrocarbon-bearing columns of up to 40 ft. and 77 ft. respectively, and potential net pay thicknesses of 30.5 ft. and 50 ft., respectively. During a nine hour flow test, the well produced 1,200 bbl. per day of 36-degree-gravity API oil and 4.0 million cu. ft. per day of gas. The tested on a 20/64-in. choke, the flowing pressure was 3,010 psi and the water cut at the end of the test was less than 0.8%. According to Oil and Gas International, Cepsa is the operator of the El Eden Block and #1-La Casona with 60% interest which is awaiting approval by Colombia's industry regulator Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) to be transferred to Parex Resources Colombia. The remaining 40%, including 15% pending ANH approval, is held by Petroamerica with 40% working interest in the El Eden Block.
