Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Petrobras has reported the discovery of good quality oil reservoirs in Brazil's pre-salt Santos Basin. Located in Libra Block's northwest area, #3-BRSA-1305A-RJS (3-RJS-739A) was drilled to 3,084 m in 1,951 m of water. The well hit a 270-m oil column and found that the high-quality reservoirs were in communication with previous wells in this area. Two drillstem tests were performed at two different intervals that confirmed the productivity of the reservoirs, with and 28-degree gravity oil, which is similar to wells #2-ANP-2A-RJS and #3-RJS-731.Two other wells are being drilled in the Libra Block's northwest area at #3-BRSA-1322-RJS (3-RJS-741) and #3-BRSA-1339-RJS (3-RJS-742). The oil-bearing zone of #3-RJS-741 was identified by wireline logging and fluid samples. Rio de Janeiro-based Petrobras is the operator of Libra Field and Block BM-S-11 with 40% interest in partnership with Shell (20%); Total (20%); China National Petroleum Corporation (10%); and China National Offshore Oil Corp. (10%).
