Drilling Activity Details
Drilling Activity Summary
Description
Aramco and Kuwait Gulf Oil Company are resuming oil production from the Khafji Field in the Saudi Arabia-Kuwait Neutral Zone in the Persian Gulf. The restored output from Khafji Field is expected to be between 280 Mbbl and 300 Mbbl per day once the field has been brought back onstream. The field has been shut-in since October 2014 for environmental concerns. The onshore Neutral Zone-Wafra Field was shutdown in 2015 due an operating disagreement between the partners, but has now been resolved. Chevron operates the field on behalf of the Saudi government. The field had an output capacity before the shutdown of some 220 Mbbl of oil per day. Aramco is based in Dhahran.
