IHS Markit reported that Jonah Energy LLC is planning a major gas development project in southwestern Wyoming’s Normally Pressured Lance (NPL) project area adjacent to Jonah Field. The Denver-based company is proposing to directionally drill up to 3,500 wells on a 141,080-acre project area is in Sublette County, 93% of which is on Bureau of Land Management-administered land. Most wells would be located on common drillpads, with no more than four pads being constructed per 640 acres. The wells, along with associated infrastructure, would be constructed over a 10-year period at a rate of up to 350 wells per year based on an average of 10 working drill rigs or until the resource base is fully developed. The original project was proposed in 2011 by Encana Corp. It is located immediately south and west of the existing Jonah gas field within townships 27-29n, ranges 107 -110w in Sublette County.
