Description
INPEX is drilling an exploratory well in the Sea of Japan to assess the presence of hydrocarbons in the area. The project was commissioned by the Agency of Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. A semisubmersible rig will drill the venture in 210 m of water. The operations are approximately 130 km northwest of Shimane Prefecture and approximately 140 km north of Yamaguchi Prefecture.
