Description
According to IHS Inc., Woolsey Operating Co. is drilling the easternmost wildcat in the company's deep Knox drilling program in the Illinois Basin. Located in Section 27-4s-6w of Warrick County, Ind., #1-270406-173 Miller will be drilled to 6,000 ft. Within two miles southwest of Woolsey's drillsite are numerous wells in Tennyson North Field, which was opened in 1985. Wells in the field produce from pays in St. Genevieve at around 1,300 ft. In early 2014, Phillips Exploration permitted two wildcats in Section 27, just east of Woolsey's exploratory test. Phillips' #1 John Schmitt has a planned depth of 1,600 ft and targets Warsaw. The #1 K. Johnston, which is permitted to 1,300 ft, has shallower objectives in McClosky. Woolsey's headquarters are in Wichita, Kan.
