Description
A new hydrocarbon discovery in the Karak Block in Pakistan was reported by operator Mari Petroleum Company Ltd. The #1-Halini-Deep was drilled to 5,900 m and is the third discovery in the block. A drillstem test was conducted in a new, deeper reservoir (Samana Suk). The well flowed 1.425 Mbbl per day of oil and 1.18 MMcf per day of gas. Oil was first discovered in Karak Block in 2011 at exploration well #1-Halini, along with #1-Kalabagn. Testing at #1-Kalabagh was completed in 2015. Mari holds 60% working interest with MOL Pakistan Oil & Gas at 40%.
