Drilling Activity Summary

Description

In an underexplored portion of Cambria County, Pa., Chief Oil & Gas of Dallas has permitted a 9,000-ft. horizontal Marcellus venture, #1 PMG Raby Unit. Chief plans to drill the well in Section H Beaverdale 7.5 Quad, Adams Township. There are only three wells completed within five miles of the new location. The #1 Cambria Mining was drilled in 1981 to a total depth of 9,081 ft. and was tested flowing 820,000 cu. ft. of gas daily from Oriskany Sand at 8,786-94 ft. To the south, another well drilled in 1981, #1 Cambria Mining & Manufacturing, yielded 538.4 million cu. ft. of gas from Oriskany Sand at 9,000-14 ft. About 3 miles southwest, #1 Angels Coal Trust was drilled in 2009 and tested flowing an unreported amount of gas from Oriskany Sand at 9,272-9,321 ft.
