Description
IHS Markit reported that Hindsight Oil & Gas LLC, based in Casper, has scheduled 120 horizontal wildcats targeting Niobrara, Frontier and Mowry oil zones in a southwestern Powder River Basin township in Johnson County, Wyo. The wildcats will all have two-section laterals drilled either northward or southward from four common drillpads in Section 3, Section 9, Section 17 and Section 18-43n-78w. All the proposed wells are named after dog breeds—Pug and Boxer on the pad in Section 3; Poodle on the pad in Section 9; Great Dane on the pad in Section 17; and Shepherd on the pad in section 18. Measured total depths range between 21,600 and 23,800 ft. True vertical depths of the Niobrara ventures is anticipated at 11,403 ft, of the Frontier ventures is 12,061 ft, and of the Mowry projects is 12,823 ft. The wildcats are within 3 miles of the only oil producer in the township, #4378-18-13H Mojave-Fee in Section 18-43n-78w. This horizontal discovery was completed in 2012 initially pumping 14 bbl of oil and 17 bbl of water per day from a Niobrara.
