A remote vertical Utah wildcat is under way in eastern Wasatch County on the western flank of the Uinta Basin by Richardson, Texas-based Green River Operating LLC. Located in Section 29-2s-9w, #1-29-29 Coleman will be drilled to 12,000 ft and is targeting oil in Green River and Wasatch. According to IHS Markit, drillsite is a few miles north of the Ashley National Forest and a few miles east of the Uinta National Forest. Nearby drilling is about 2.5 miles to the northwest at a 10,000-ft dry hole in Section 13-2s-10w — #1 Bert L. Coleman was drilled and abandoned in 1953 after drillstem tests at 6,274-6,302 ft and 9,935-10,000 ft.
