Chesapeake Operating Inc. has extended Girlie Caldwell Field with a horizontal completion in Smith County (RRC Dist. 6), Texas. The #1H Covington flowed 427 bbl of 37-degree-gravity crude, 229 Mcf of gas and 313 bbl of water per day from Goodland Lime at 9,225-13,894 ft. It was tested on a 1-in. choke and the flowing casing pressure was 80 psi. The 13,936-ft well has a true vertical depth of 8,051 ft and is on a 320-acre lease in Thomas W. Jones Survey, A-513, bottoming 1 mile to the northwest.
