Operator Beach Energy announced new gas discovery at #1DW1-Dombey in the Otway Basin in South Australia. The Penola Trough venture hit gas in the targeted Pretty Hill Formation with a 44.5-m gross gas column and an estimated net pay thickness of 25 m. The well was drilled to 3,384 m and formation evaluation is underway. Further testing and analysis are required to establish commerciality. Adelaide-based Beach holds a 70% interest with partner Cooper Energy (30% interest) in PEL 494.
