Description
In Gaines County (RRC Dist. 8A), Texas, Copper Ridge Resources LLC has completed the first horizontal producer in West Texas’ Glasco Field, a Midland Basin oil pool. The #1X Maria initially flowed 449 bbl of 39-degree-gravity crude and 1.653 Mbbl of water per day from Devonian. The completion is on a 153-acre Gaines County (RRC Dist. 8A) lease in Section 29, Block A19, PSL Survey, A-2095. The lateral bottomed about one-third of a mile to the north. Production is from an acidized open-hole interval at 12,568-13,847 ft. It was drilled to 13,847 ft and the true vertical depth is 12,604 ft. The horizontal leg was drilled out of a vertical hole that was completed in 2014. The vertical well pumped 312 bbl of 38-degree-gravity oil per day from an openhole interval in Devonian at 12,570-12,588 ft. Copper Ridge’s headquarters are in Midland, Texas.
