Description

ExxonMobil is underway at a development test in the company’s Julia Field, a Lower Tertiary reservoir discovered in 2017. The #6-JU OCS G20351 was last reported drilling below 18,000 ft. The venture is in the western half of Walker Ridge Block 584. Area water depth is 7,100 ft. The Houston-based company’s offsetting #105-JU (ST) OCS G25251, which bottomed to the north beneath Block 540, was drilled to 31,472 ft and it was brought online in 2017, yielding crude from perforations at 30,215-31,156 ft. According to IHS Markit, Lower Tertiary Wilcox oil production in Julia (Walker Ridge Block 627) Field comes from four active wells. Through perforations at around 28,000-31,500 ft, production from the development totals 18.2 MMbbl of crude and 1.9 Bcf of gas.
