Description
United Oil & Gas has spud exploration well #1X-ASX in the Abu Sennan License, Egypt. The well is located about 7 km to the north of Al Jahraa Field and will test a number of stacked reservoir targets. The vertical exploration well is targeting a similar structure to the nearby discovery that was recently made at #1X-ASD with primary targets in the Abu Roash C and E reservoirs, and secondary targets in the deeper Bahariya and shallower Khoman. The venture is expected to be the final well of the 2021 campaign, with longer-term plans for unlocking the additional potential in the Abu Sennan license currently under discussion. London-based United Oil & Gas holds a 22% working interest in the license and it is operated by Kuwait Energy.
