Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Houston-based Chevron Corp. has filed an exploration plan for Mississippi Canyon Block 434, a previously undrilled tract south of Shell Oil’s Appomattox prospect. At Chevron’s Yarrow prospect, up nine exploratory tests could be drilled from various surface locations on Block 434 (OCS G35971). Area water depth is about 6,900 ft. Chevron acquired the Block 434 lease at OCS Sale 247 held in March 2017. Several of Shell’s discoveries in the area – Vicksburg, Dover, Rydberg, Fort Sumter and Castle Valley – are deep Norphlet finds.
