Description

According to IHS Markit, Calgary, Alberta-based Encana Oil & Gas Corp. has completed the first of two horizontal Gallup producers on the North Alamito Unit in the San Juan Basin. The wells are in Section 34-23n-7w in Sandoval County, N.M. The #307H North Alamito Unit initially flowed 383 bbl of 42.8-degree-gravity oil, 1.248 MMcf of gas and 421 bbl of water per day. Production is from a horizontal lateral in Gallup extending from 5,323 ft northwestward to 12,277 ft. It bottomed at a true vertical depth of 5,134 ft in Section 28-23n-7w. Tested on a 28/64-in. choke following 29-stage fracturing between 5,395 and 12,244 ft, the flowing tubing pressure was 720 psi and the flowing casing pressure was 1,084 psi. The #308H North Alamito Unit initially flowed 473 bbl of 43.3-degree-gravity oil, 1.531 MMcf of gas and 270 bbl of water per day. It was tested on a 28/64-in. choke following 29-stage fracturing between 5,612 and 12,416 ft. Production is from a horizontal Gallup lateral extending from 5,540 ft northwestward to 12,485 ft, 5,191 ft true vertical, bottoming in Section 28-23n-7w. The flowing tubing pressure was 579 psi and the flowing casing pressure was 1,016 psi.
