Edge Energy II LLC has received drilling permits for 36 horizontal Niobrara/Codell wildcats on three common drillpads in Weld County, Colo. on the Golden, Colo.-based company’s Deporter lease. The company will drill 12 horizontal tests from a drillpad in Section 4-10n-65w, 12 more from a drillpad in Section 4-10n-65w, and another 12 from a drillpad in Section 2-10n-65w. The wells on the pad in Section 4 will be drilled north-northwestward to bottom-hole locations in Section 29-11n-65w — six will test Niobrara and six will test Codell. The wells on the drillpad in Section 2 will be drilled to the north and will bottom in Section 26-11n-65w — six will test Niobrara and six will test Codell. Nearby production is about 4 miles to the southeast at #36-11-65 Moonshine in Section 36-11n-65w, which was completed in 2010 flowing 519 bbl of oil, 257 Mcf of gas and 279 bbl of water per day from a horizontal interval in the Niobrara B zone at 7,174-13,180 ft after 19-stage fracturing.
