Golden, Colorado-based Edge Energy II LLC has been granted drilling permits for 12 horizontal Niobrara/Codell exploratory tests in the western Denver-Julesburg Basin. The Weld County, Colo., ventures will be drilled from a pad in Section 1-8n-67w, will be horizontally drilled eastward and southeastward to bottom-hole locations in Section 5-8n-66w. Seven of the 12 ventures will be drilled in Niobrara and five will be drilled in Codell. The #6-5-1H through #12H Akbary will extend to measured total depths between 17,178 and 19,093 ft. True vertical depth of the Niobrara projects is expected at 7,405-7,439 ft, while true vertical depth of the Codell ventures is anticipated at 7,485-7,539 ft.
