Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Drilling permits have been granted to ConocoPhillips for four North Slope wildcats on its Harpoon prospect in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska. The Umiat Meridian new ventures are #1 Harpoon, Section 33-8n-4w; #2 Harpoon, Section 30-7n-3w; #3 Harpoon, Section 7-6n-4w and #4 Harpoon Section 29-7n-4w. The company previously announced that it would drill seven exploratory tests in the 2020 winter season and much of the drilling would focus on its Harpoon prospect and on further delineating its Willow Field area. The Harpoon drillsites are about 25 miles southwest of the company’s Willow accumulation and may contain 400-750 MMbbl of recoverable oil in the Nanushuk formation. ConocoPhillips also noted that the Nanushuk has 42-72 ft of net pay in the area.
