IHS Markit reported that Fort Worth-based Finley Resources Inc. has been granted drilling permits for 16 exploratory tests targeting Green River and Wasatch in the Uinta Basin in Uintah County, Utah. The wells will be drilled on two top-bid federal leases in sections 31, 33, 34 and 35-6s-20e—nine will be vertically drilled and seven will be directionally drilled to measured total depths ranging from 9,063 and 9,765 ft. The #31-1-6-20, #31-2-6-20, #31-3-6-20 and #31-4-6-20 Aurora will be drilled from pads in Section 31-6s-20e. The #33-1-6-20, #33-2-6-20, #33-3-6-20, #33-4-6-20 Opnx will be drilled from pads in Section 33-6s-20e. The #34-1-6-20, # 34-2-6-20, #34-3-6-20, #34-4-6-20 Opnx will be drilled from pads in Section 34-6s-20e. The #35-1-6-20, #35-2-6-20, #35-3-6-20 and #35-4-6-20 Opnx will be drilled from pads in Section 35-6s-20e. The Aurora projects are on an 859.60-acre federal lease comprising lots 1-4 of Section 30, and all excluding U16133 of Section 31 in Township 6s-20e. The proposed Aurora wells are within one mile east of a Green River producer in the Brennan Bottom field area—Bill Barrett Corp.’s #1-36-6-19 FD in Section 36-6s-19e was completed in 2013 flowing 213 bbl of oil, 26 Mcf of gas and 45 bbl of water daily from fractured intervals in Green River at 7,045-8747 ft and Wasatch at 8,792-8,949 ft. The Opnx projects are on a 1,920-acre federal lease taking in all of sections 33, 34 and 35-6s-20e.
