Description
In Escambia County, Ala., Sklar Exploration Co. LLC is drilling a directional wildcat in Section 28-3n-11e. The #1 Cedar Creek Land & Timber 21-16 will bottom to the northwest in Section 21 and the proposed depth is 13,550 ft (13,498 ft true vertical). A permit for the venture was filed by Shreveport, La.-based Sklar in early 2018, but the location was abandoned before drilling took place. Nearby production is within 3 miles to the northeast at a directional Smackover discovery completed in 2014. The #1 Cedar Creek Land & Timber 14-9 was producing from a zone at 12,600-04 ft and it produced sporadically for less than one year and well recovery totaled just 372 bbl of crude and 1.056 Mbbl of water.
