Description

Denver-based QEP Resources Inc. has scheduled an 8,546-ft directional test of Fort Union off the northwestern flank of Powder Wash Field in Moffat County, Colo. The #19-1 Powder Wash will be in Section 19-12n-97w and will evaluate Fort Union gas zones at a planned true vertical depth of 8,500 ft. Nearby production is within one mile to the west or two vertical Fort Union producers—#1 MFS in Section 20-12n-97w, and #14 J.C. Donnell in Section 30-12n-97w. The #1 MFS has produced 4.7 Bcf of gas, 38.28 Mbbl of condensate and 5.029 Mbbl of water from Fort Union at 6,517-70 ft since its completion in 1977. The #14 J.C. Donnell produced 5.8 MMcf of gas, 23 bbl of condensate and 23 bbl of water in August 2016.
