Description

Devon Energy Corp. has scheduled three horizontal exploratory tests at a drillpad in the southern Powder River Basin. According to IHS Markit, the Converse County, Wyo., the drillpad will be in Section 7-37n-71w. The #18-193771-1XNH and #3XNH SDU Tillard-Federal will be drilled southward to bottom-hole locations in Section 19-37n-71w and will be targeting Niobrara. The #18-193771-1XNH Tillard-Federal has a planned depth of 21,656 ft with a true vertical depth of 11,264 ft. The #3XNH SDU Tillard-Federal will be drilled to 21,645 with a true vertical depth of 11,155 ft. The third well, #18-193771-2XTH SDU Tillard-Federal, will be drilled in the deeper Turner sand southward to 22,028 ft, 11,633 ft true vertical, and will also bottom in Section 19-37n-71w. The wells are on the Shelden Draw (Deep) Unit, which covers 23,682.19 acres in all or parts of the following sections: 29-33 of township 38n-71w, and 1-28 and 33-36 of township 37n-71w, Converse County. The unit was formed by Chesapeake Operating Inc. in 2011, taken over by RKI in 2013 and is now operated by Oklahoma City-based Devon.
