Description

Hess Corp. is drilling a development test at the company’s Stampede project. The #1SA OCS G26313 is in the northern portion of Green Canyon Block 512. The planned bottomhole is to the north in Block 468 and area water depth is 3,600 ft. In the northern portion of Green Canyon Block 468, the Stampede tension leg platform is a joint development of the Pony discovery on Green Canyon Block 468 and the Knotty Head discovery on Green Canyon Block 512. The Knotty Head discovery on Block 512 was drilled in 2005 at #1 (BP2) OCS G26315, which encountered about 600 ft of pay in Miocene-age reservoirs. The Pony discovery, #1 (BP) OCS G26313 on Block 468, was ccompleted in 2006 and encountered 475 ft of oil-saturated Miocene sandstone. Hess’ headquarters are in New York.
