According to IHS Markit, Denbury Resources Inc. completed the first horizontal Mission Canyon (Madison) producer on the Cedar Creek Anticline in 23 years. The Pennel/Lookout Butte Field area completion is in Fallon County, Mont., at #14-29H Pennel in Section 29-7n-60e. It was tested pumping 1.277 Mbbl of oil, 6 Mcf of gas and 975 bbl of water per day. Production is from an openhole, horizontal lateral in Mission Canyon extending from 7,570 ft northwestward to a total depth of 12,336 ft. It bottomed in Section 30-7n-60e and the true vertical depth is 7,222 ft. Denbury’s headquarters are in Plano, Texas.
