Contango Oil & Gas Co., based in Houston, has completed a horizontal Wolfcamp well in its Delaware Basin program in West Texas’ Pecos County (RRC Dist. 8). IHS Markit reported that #2H Gunner 2223 was drilled to 20,430 ft, including a 10,600-ft Lower Wolfcamp A lateral. The true vertical depth is 10,119 ft and was completed after 50-stage fracturing. The well reached a gross maximum, three-stream, 24-hour initial potential of 1.348 Mboe/d (77% oil), and over the last 30 days have averaged 1.152 Mboe/d (76% oil). It is in Section 22, Block 49, T9S, T&P Survey, A-8341. The lateral bottomed 2 miles to the east in Section 23.
