According to IHS Markit, Kosmos Energy has scheduled a deepwater test on Mississippi Canyon Block 728. The #3 OCS G16644 will be drilled from a site in the far northern portion of Mississippi Canyon Block 728. Area water depth is 5,200 ft. According to an exploration plan filed in 2019, Kosmos has named Block 728 the company’s Old Field prospect, which was previously owned by Eni, Kosmos took over operation of the Block 728 lease in mid-2019.
