According to IHS Markit, Dee Drilling has spud a 3,000-ft test in Gallatin County, Ill. The #3 Brockschmidt is targeting oil pays in Aux Vases. The Omaha Field test being drilled is in Section 35-7s-8e. To the north, the Carmel, Ill-based company’s #2 Brockschmidt was completed in early 2019 in an unreported Upper Cypress Sand zone — it pumped 40 bbl of crude and 70 bbl of water per day. Two other tests have been permitted in Section 35 at Dee Drilling’s #2 Charles Moye and #1 Bruce Edwards are each scheduled to reach 3,000 ft: the company’s program is designed to extend Omaha Field about one-half mile to the east.
