Cooper Energy has announced results from a four-well appraisal program at the Callawonga oil Field in the South Australia portion of the Cooper Basin in PEL 92. The #19-Callawonga was plugged and abandoned with oil shows after being drilled to 1,550 m. The #20-Callawonga was plugged and abandoned with oil shows after being drilled 1,485 m. The #21-Callawonga was plugged and abandoned with oil shows after being drilled to 1,494 m. The #22-Callawonga was plugged and abandoned as a dry hole after being drilled to 1,477 m. The Callawonga appraisal campaign will be followed by a four-well appraisal campaign in Butlers Field, also located in PEL 92. Cooper Energy has a 25% interest in the PEL 92 joint venture with the balance held by Beach Energy. Cooper’s headquarters are in Adelaide.
