Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Canacol Energy announced results from two wells in Colombia’s Lower Magdalena Valley Basin. Exploration well #1-Ocarina is in the VIM 5 block and was drilled south of discovery #1 Acordeon, which flowed 33 MMcf of gas from a sandstone reservoir in Cineaga do Oro (CDO). The #1-Ocarina encountered a thick section of gas pay within the same CDO sandstone reservoir and confirmed a new gas accumulation in CDO. It was drilled to 8,751 ft and encountered 530 ft of gross gas pay between 6,384 and 6,914 ft (true vertical) with average porosity of 23% within the primary target. An interval between 6,444 and 6,457 ft (true vertical) was production-tested during a 32-hour period. This interval was tested on an 82/64-in. choke flowing 30.4 MMcf per day with a flowing tubing head pressure of 913 psi. The #7 Nelson development well was drilled to 9,300 ft and hit a 107-ft CDO reservoir. The zone was tested on an 85/64-in. choke. During a 23-hour test it produced 29 MMcf with a flowing tubing head pressure of 770 psi. Canacol’s headquarters are in Calgary.
