Description

Two extended-lateral Wolfcamp wells in the Delaware Basin have been completed by Cimarex Energy Co. in Eddy County, N.M. The Purple Sage Field well, #001H Crawford 27-26 Fee, flowed 9.052 MMcf of gas, 432 bbl of 47.9-degree-gravity oil and 7.136 Mbbl of water per day. Production is from fractured perforations at 9,249-19,093 ft. It was drilled to 19,142 ft (9,573 ft true vertical) and is in Section 27-24s-26e. Gauged on a 53/64-in. choke, the flowing casing pressure was 1,706 psi. The horizontal leg bottomed about 2 miles to the east in Section 26. The offsetting and parallel #002H Crawford 27-26 Fee was completed in a shallower Wolfcamp zone flowing 2.901 MMcf of gas, 1.741 Mbbl of 47.9-degree-gravity oil and 2.473 Mbbl of water per day. The flowing tubing pressure was 2,000 psi when tested on a 32/64-in. choke and production is from fracture-treated perforations at 8,749-18,121 ft. It was drilled to 18,219 ft, 8,756 ft true vertical. Cimarex is based in Denver.
