Description

Chesapeake Operating Inc. has completed a horizontal well targeting bypassed reserves in Chester Lime in Section 20-22n-16w in Major County, Okla. According to IHS Markit, #1H Kilauea 17-22-16 produced 1.89 MMcf of gas, 7 bbl of 43-degree-gravity oil and 68 bbl of water during a 24-hour initial potential test. The test was conducted on a 64/64-in. choke with a shut-in tubing pressure of 987 psi and a flowing tubing pressure of 72 psi. It was drilled to 12,441ft (7,039 ft true vertical) to the north and bottomed in Section 17-22n-16w. Oklahoma City-based Chesapeake calculated the Chester Lime underlying Section 17-22n-16w contained recoverable original oil-in-place of roughly 351 Mbbl, and the existing vertical wells are expected to ultimately produce 23 Mbbl from the formation.
