Description
West Bay Exploration Co., Traverse City, Mich., completed a 4,760-ft. wildcat in southern Michigan some six miles southeast of Olivet in Calhoun County. The #1-23 Mullett initially flowed 160 bbl. of 42-gravity oil and 80,000 cu. ft. of gas a day with no water. The discovery is in Section 23-1s-5w, Lee Township, and is producing from Trenton-Black River from 4,697 to 4,747 ft. The site is one mile north-northeast of Trenton and Black River oil production in northern Albion-Scipio Field. West Bay's Rice Creek Field is 3.5 miles south.
