Description

IHS Markit reported that Byron Energy Ltd. plans to drill the first exploratory test on its Bivouac Peak East prospect in the Shell Island Field area of South Louisiana’s St. Mary Parish. The proposed #1 Weiss-Adler et al is in Section 7-18s-12e will be directionally drilled to Miocene to 18,294 ft with a true vertical depth of 18,000 ft. To the southwest is the Bivouac Peak Deep prospect but no permit has been released by the State of Louisiana and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. According to Lafayette, La.-based Byron’s 2017 annual reserve report, the gross prospective resources for the two Bivouac Peak prospects were estimated at a combined 16 MMbbl of oil and 177.7 Bcf of gas (45.6 MMboe). Byron will operate the venture with a 43% working interest. Additional interest holders include Otto Energy (40%), Metgasco Ltd (10%) and NOLA Oil & Gas Ventures (7%).
