Drilling Activity Summary

Description

BP, based in London, has scheduled 12 horizontal exploratory tests targeting Mancos Shale gas in the New Mexico portion of the San Juan Basin. According to IHS Market, one of the San Juan County ventures is #602-1H Northeast Blanco Unit-Com, Section 12-31n-7w, which will be horizontally drilled eastward to 17,711 ft and will bottom in Section 7-31n-7w. The anticipated true vertical depth is 7,356 ft. The remainder of the tests will be drilled in Township 31n-7w as follows – three from a drillpad in Section 12; two from a drillpad in Section 13; two from a drillpad in Section 22 and four from a drillpad in Section 32. Measured total depths of the horizontal projects range up to 19,602 ft. The tests are the first horizontal Mancos tests in the vicinity. The township contains two BP-operated horizontal Fruitland/Pictured Cliffs gas wells in the Los Pinos South Field area. Nearby production is from coalbed methane ventures that produce gas from Fruitland; Pictured Cliffs; Mesaverde and Dakota in Greater Basin and Blanco fields.
