Cuadrilla Resource Ltd. reported gas flow to the surface from its #1-Preston New Road well at the Preston New Road site in Lancashire, U.K. According to the company, produced water is being recycled from Bowland Shale, after fracturing of a small section of the formation surrounding the first horizontal exploration well. The company also reported that it has not yet been able to inject as much sand into the shale as planned. Flow-testing is planned. Staffordshire, U.K.-based Cuadrilla is the operator of the Preston New Road well and its PEDL license area in partnership with AJ Lucas and Centrica.
