Drilling Activity Summary

Description

A Bone Spring discovery was announced on the Carlsbad Shelf of the Permian Basin by Midland, Texas-based BC Operating Inc. The #1H Battle is in Section 34-21s-33e of Lea County, N.M. It was tested flowing 552 bbl of 41.2-degree-gravity crude, 690 Mcf of gas and 1.39 Mbbl of water per day. Production is from perforations at 11,333-15,361 ft following a 14-stage fracturing. Gauged on a 24/64-in. choke, the flowing tubing pressure was 500 psi. The horizontal leg was drilled to 15,561 ft out of a 12,150-ft pilot hole. The south-trending lateral has a true vertical depth of 11,011 ft. In addition, the company has permitted its offsetting #2H Battle well in Section 27-21s-33e. The 16,850-ft well will target Bone Spring in a lateral that will bottom to the south beneath Section 34.
