According to an exploration plan filed by BHP Billiton Petroleum, up to 28 tests could be drilled at a four-block prospect north of the company’s producing Shenzi and Neptune fields. The four-tract prospect is made up of Green Canyon Block 348 (OCS G31716), Block 392 (OCS G32499), Block 436 (OCS G32506) and Block 480 (OCS G32512). Area water depth is about 4,000 ft. Melbourne, Australia-based BHP recently made a discovery in the area at its Caicos prospect where #1SS OCS G34993 on Block 564 encountered oil in multiple Miocene horizons.
