Description
Denver-based Anschutz Oil Co. has scheduled 10 horizontal wildcats targeting four Cretaceous zones on two common drillpads in a western Powder River Basin. The Johnson County, Wyo., ventures will evaluate Cretaceous Niobrara, Sussex, Frontier and Muddy formations. The drillpad will be in Section 2-49n-79w. From the pad in Section 26, Anschutz will drill five horizontal tests generally northward to measured total depths between 18,937 and 22,107 ft and will bottom in Section 26-50n-79w. Of the five tests on Anschutz’s Nero-Federal lease – two are in Frontier and one each are in Muddy, Sussex and Niobrara. Five horizontal tests will be drilled generally northward to depths between 18,887 and 22,063 ft and will bottom in Section 26-50n-79w. Nearby production is approximately 4 miles to the northeast in Flying E Field, which was opened in mid-1975 at #1 Yates-Federal.
