Drilling Activity Summary

Description

Oslo-based Aker BP, operator of production license 028 B in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea, has concluded drilling of appraisal wells #25/10-16S, #25/10-16A and #25/10-16C in Hanz Field, as well as wildcat well #25/10-16B drilled in production license 915 just southeast of the field. The objective of the appraisal wells was to delineate the field, investigate potential additional resources in underlying Middle Jurassic reservoir rocks (Hugin) and better estimate the resources. The #25/10-16B encountered 15 m of tight and partially tight sandstone layers in Draupne and approximately 10 m of aquiferous sandstone with moderate-to-good reservoir quality in Hugin. The #25/10-16S was drilled to 2,643 m and encountered an approximate effective reservoir of about 20 m in sandstone layers with good reservoir quality. The oil/water contact was not encountered. An aquiferous sandstone layer, about 15 m thick, was encountered in the underlying Hugin, with moderate-to-good reservoir quality. The #25/10-16A was drilled to 2,496 m and hit a 15-m gas column in Hugin in sandstone with moderate-to-good reservoir quality. The gas/water contact was proven. The overlying Draupne Formation contains a total of about 10 m of tight and partially tight sandstone layers. The #25/10-16 C was drilled to 2,626 m and hit 15 m of aquiferous sandstone in Hugin, with moderate-to-good reservoir quality. In the overlying Draupne there is about 5 m of tight and partially tight sandstone layer. Aker BP is the operator of PL915, Block 25/10, and Hanz Field with 35% interest in partnership with Equinor, holding 50%, and Spirit Energy with the remaining 15%.
