Description
London-based BP Plc has scheduled more development drilling in Green Canyon Block 825 in advance of the planned 2021 start-up of the Mad Dog 2 project. The #4 (BP2) OCS G09981 is underway, with work on the first bypass beginning in December. The #6 OCS G09982 will be in the northeastern portion of the block and will bottom to the east in Block 826. Area water depth is 5,000 ft. The Mad Dog Phase 2 project is expected to come online in late 2021. The project will include a new floating production platform with the capacity to produce up to 140 Mbbl of crude per day.
