Denver-based 8 North LLC has scheduled 12 horizontal Niobrara/Codell exploratory tests in the Denver-Julesburg Basin in Weld County, Colo. According to IHS Markit, the projects will be drilled from two common drillpads in Section 8-10n-59w. Six of the ventures (four in Niobrara and two in Codell) will be drilled on the McArthur-Federal lease southward to bottom-hole locations in Section 17-10n-59w. The other six projects (four in Niobrara and two in Codell) will be drilled on the company’s Marshburn-Federal lease in Section 8 south-southwestward to bottom-hole locations in Section 17-10n-59w. Proposed measured total depths range between 16,840 and 17,282 ft. True vertical depth of the Niobrara tests is anticipated at 6,720 ft and of the Codell tests is expected at 6,925 ft.
